The Heart and Soul: Reimbursement

Pulmonary rehabilitation experts must also be an expert in the Reimbursement Arena. It is no longer acceptable to say I don't know what is happening with third party reimbursement at my institution. The existence of a pulmonary rehabilitation program tailored to the individual patients' needs is insufficient if those who manage the program do not know or understand the rules for reimbursement, from Medicare to Managed Care. Understanding Medicare coverage is the start since many Private insurance companies follow in Medicare footsteps. Knowing the UB-92, how to document for services provided will make a pulmonary rehabilitation successful and survive. The KEY-Reimbursement!
