Professional Opportunities for RCP's in Post Acute Care
Laura Hyatt, RN, BS, CCM Sunday, November 3, 1996
The demographics of the United States are changing. The baby-boomers are becoming greyby-boomers and are impacting the way in which we deliver and pay for healthcare. New technologies and methodologies have improved treatment which in turn is increasing the life span of persons affected by illness or injury.
These combined elements are causing us to revisit our healthcare system in order to find solutions to current as well as future challenges. Most recently, the focus is on alternate- site care. This evolution necessitates charting a new course for providers, payors and vendors. The healthcare professional has many areas of participation to consider, and these opportunities will continue to expand well into the new millennium.
