Can I Still Work? - Assessment of Impairment and Disability

Evaluation of impairment and disability is an important aspect of the care of workers exposed to respiratory hazards. In this talk, we will review American Thoracic Society and Social Security standards for determination of impairment and disability. The new ATS standards for assessment of disability related to asthma were written in attempt to establish a more realistic assessment of impairment in disability recognizing the inherent variability of the degree of impairment in asthma.
