Techniques in invasive monitoring.
John M. Graybeal, CRT
Respiratory therapists have considerable expertise concerning the interactions of the pulmonary and the cardiovascular systems. Recently, there has been interest in having the bedside respiratory therapist directly involved in initiating and managing invasive monitoring systems. Specific techniques of invasive monitoring, including systemic, central, and cerebral pressures, will be presented. The controversies of invasive monitoring will be briefly discussed.
