The Relationship Between the Upper and Lower Airways
Michael Anders, MPH RRT University of Arkansas for the Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas
This lecture identifies how disorders of the upper airways may co-exist with and exacerbate a disorder of the lower airways. Furthermore, this lecture evaluates treatment options for upper and/or lower airway disorders.
The program is intended to raise the standard of care for patients with allergies by disseminating to physicians and allied health clinicians the diagnostic and treatment recommendations contained in The Allergy Report. The Report is a broad-based consensus document and best practices model designed to modify clinical practical behaviors. Attendees will learn how disorders of the upper airways, such as allergic rhinitis, may coexist with exacerbate disorders of the lower airways, such as asthma and bronchitis.
