Why Build Respiratory Care Assessment Teams: Aren't All RCP's Assessors?
John W. Salyer, MBA RRT FAARC Primary Children's Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah
Aren't all RCP's "assessors"? If not, shouldn't they be? This lecture will answer these questions and address the reasons for creating special teams of "assessors." It will examine the published science regarding the use of assessors teams, the general utilization of respiratory care services, and how well students are prepared in school for advanced assessment practices. The financial and cultural impact of the creation of a team will be discussed.
